• New Get Info button on file list windows acts like the Finder Get Info command (shows type, exact size, created date, etc). Also lets you rename files/folders, and view/edit comments. When used on aliases, the name shown is that of the alias (and if you rename it, the alias is renamed), but the displayed info and comments are that of the original file/folder.
• In text boxes, double-clicking on a word selects that word. Triple-click selects the entire line. Double/triple click and drag to select multiple words/lines. Double/triple click and then shift-click somewhere else to select a range of words/lines.
• If you have InternetConfig installed, you can now command-click URLs! Woohoo! In addition, if you open up Internet Config, click Helpers, then add Hotline Client as the helper for "hotline", you can command-click Hotline URLs, for example, <hotline://1.2.3.4> or <hotline:1.2.3.4>. Netscape doesn't use Internet Config, so you'll need to configure it via an AppleScript. You can get InternetConfig from:
• The caret (insertion point) in text no longer blinks if the text is selectable but not editable.
• Horizontal scroll bar on the tracker window. Also fixed bug where the names of servers listed in the tracker were being truncated to 15 characters.
• New access privileges: If "Don't Show Agreement" is on, then that user won't see the agreement. By default, the name that appears in the user list is now the name from the users account. If "Can Use Any Name" is on, the name in the user list is the name from the Options window in the client.
• Text can now be drag & dropped OUT of text boxes (but not into yet). The drag is translucent if you are on a PPC mac and the selection is not too big.
• You can now upload a file simply by dragging it from the Finder and dropping it into a file listing in Hotline!
• Command-i will get info on the selected user in the user list window. Also works in file list windows.
• If the user list is scrolled to the bottom and a someone arrives, it will scroll to the bottom of the list to show the new arrival.
• Swapped positions of Disconnect and Get Info buttons on user list window — the "dangerous" button is now the furthest right, and thus harder to accidentally hit (thanks Eric!).
• Supports transfer of finder comments with downloads and uploads.
• When downloading a file, the address of the server is placed in the comments of the file (until the download is complete, at which point it changes to the comments of the original file on the server).
• Drag and drop a file or folder between windows to move it!
• New "Go" button on tasks window starts a queued file transfer immediately. This is useful if you have "Queue File Transfers" (options window) on.
• When connecting to an address, now ignores white space at the start or end of the address (some people were accidentally pasting extra spaces or carriage returns, which would cause the connect to fail).
• Can now delete folders.
• The bookmark button on the tracker window (middle button) now brings up the standard Save As window to save a bookmark for the selected server.
• When you hit the New User button, a random 20 character password is filled in by default. The probability of guessing a 20 character password is about 1 in a trillion trillion (yes a trillion trillions). The password box in the Connect window now accepts pastes, so you can copy and paste the password to your bookmark.
• Type part of a name into the user list window, a file list window, or the tracker window, press return, and the first item that contains the text will be selected.
• When a download is aborted, if the local file is zero bytes in size, it will be deleted.
• Faster drawing of icons due to icon cache.
• No longer crashes when you try to resume a download for a file that is already downloading (gives file in use error message instead).
• Upload and drop box folders get a special folder icon with a yellow down-pointing arrow.
• Unattached/orphaned aliases in file lists now get a file-with-question-mark icon (thanks terry!), and cannot be downloaded. In addition, the name is drawn in gray.
• If a private or admin message arrives when Hotline is in the background, a diamond mark will be placed next to Hotline in the application menu (good for when you've got multiple clients), and the Hotline icon will regularly flash over the icon of the current application. Both indicators disappear when Hotline is brought to the front.
• For security, "Open User" no longer displays the password (bullets are displayed instead), and to change the password you have to type in an all-new password. "New User" still displays the password in plain text.
• In file/folder lists, folders now have the number of items in brackets where the size is for files.
• User list, tracker, tasks and file list windows now have zoom boxes. Click to show as much of the list as will fit on screen.
